Jimmy is an alumnus of Penn State University with a degree in Recreation, Park and Tourism Management, specializing in Business and Golf Management. Following internships at the Ocean Reef Club (Platinum Club of America) and the Breakers in Palm Beach (Forbes 4-Star Resort), he landed at The Polo Club in Boca Raton. At The Polo Club, he progressed from a First Assistant Golf Professional to the Head Golf Professional.
Jimmy was most recently the Director of Golf at both the Boca Resort and Club, a Waldorf Astoria property, and Grand Harbor Golf & Beach Club in Vero Beach.
During his tenure at The Polo Club of Boca Raton, Jimmy supervised and mentored 11 PGA members/apprentices who managed 35 team members. He honed leadership responsibilities focusing specifically on the recruitment, training, appraisal, and counseling of a well-rounded team in membership service. He oversaw tournament operations with proactive planning, clear communication, and precise execution. Jimmy also coached individuals and groups employing golf fitness, biomechanical and audiovisual education.
Some of Jimmy's certifications and training include Active PGA Class A-4 Member in Good Standing, Level 3 Golf Fitness Instructor for the Titleist Performance Institute, USGA Rules of Golf Certified, and trained in the USGA World Handicap System and GHIN.
He has also played competitively on minitours and continues to actively compete in the PGA South Florida Section and Chapter events.
He met his wife Jodi while in Boca Raton and they have been happily married for the past 14 years Together, they have a shared an interest in cooking, music, and baseball and they are working towards a goal of visiting all the MLB parks in America (11 down already!). Jimmy is excited to be starting a new chapter of his career with us here at Bear Lakes and we are excited to have him!
